HANA Report on Two Armed Clashes Between Kurdish Opposition Groups and IRGC Forces in Piranshahr and Sardasht

According to reports received by HANA Human Rights Organization, on the evening of Wednesday, July 1, 2026, two separate armed clashes took place between Revolutionary Guards forces and members of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan in the border areas of Piranshahr and Sardasht counties.

According to information received, in the first clash, near the village of Qzqapan in Piranshahr, a vehicle carrying a group of Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan peshmerga was struck by an RPG rocket, killing five members of the party: Abdullah Hajiabdullah, Fardin Changizi, Mohammad Gorgouli, Tawana Osmani, and Karo Hormozyari.

Reports also indicate that a separate clash took place in the area of the village of Mousalan in Sardasht County. According to initial information, this clash also resulted in the deaths of a number of Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan members. However, HANA has not yet been able to independently verify the exact number of casualties, the identities of the victims, or other details of this incident, and the review process remains ongoing.
