Hana: On Wednesday June ,9, 2021, prisoners held a protest rally due to non-delivery of prisoners’ medicines, including methadone sedatives.
The prisoners, who had gathered in front of the prison health center at 8:30 am, demanded that the prison authorities take care of their situation.
For several days now, prison officials have cut off methadone from more than three prisoners, which is distributed daily by the prison health service to inmates to put pressure on inmates.
Following these pressures, around 8:30 am on Wednesday, 300 of these prisoners staged a protest in front of the guard's office, shouting: "You are making us addicted and making us miserable. You made us addicted and you You made us addicted so that we would not protest.
Shortly afterwards, the repressive forces of the prison guard attacked the protesting prisoners with batons and sticks and severely beat them. The prisoners also stood in front of them and confronted them.
Finally, at 12:30, after the prisoners shouted and protested, prison officials, including the director of health, surrendered to the prisoners' demands. The head of the prison and the head of the health department complied with the prisoners' demands and handed over the medicines needed by the prisoners.
