According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, September 19, 2026, two citizens from Kamyaran, identified as Yaser Hosseini and Mohsen Asadi, were released from the Kamyaran detention center after two days of interrogation and alleged torture in connection with the September 16 strike marking the fourth anniversary of Jina (Mahsa) Amini’s death. They were released after signing written commitments.
Hana had previously reported that the two citizens were arrested on Thursday afternoon, September 17, 2026, after Ministry of Intelligence forces raided their workplace.
Following the release of the two citizens, concerns remain over continued security measures against citizens and activists in the wake of the strike marking the fourth anniversary of Jina (Mahsa) Amini’s death. In recent days, reports have emerged of the arrest and summons of citizens in various parts of Kurdistan in connection with the strike.
