According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, Maryam Davoudian, 57, from Bukan, was temporarily released from Orumiyeh Central Prison on bail after eight days of detention, pending her trial. Her release followed the posting of a bail amounting to 5 billion Tomans.
Ms. Davoudian was summoned via a telephone call on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Upon presenting herself to the relevant authorities, she was served with a judicial order for a 10-day detention. Subsequently, on Monday, April 20, 2026, after reporting to the Intelligence Department, she was arrested and transferred to Orumiyeh Central Prison.
An informed source close to her family stated that Ms. Davoudian’s physical condition was poor upon her return home. However, after consulting a physician and receiving medical treatment and medication, her health is reportedly improving.
The Hana Human Rights Organization, while noting her temporary release, expresses its legal concerns regarding the method of telephone summons, the issuance of the detention order, her transfer to prison, and her weakened physical state upon release. Hana emphasizes that the summoning, arrest, and detention of citizens must be conducted strictly according to legal procedures, ensuring the right to access legal counsel, transparent notification to families, and adequate medical care.
