According to information received by HANA Human Rights Organization, the Islamic Republic of Iran has deployed a significant number of military forces and weapons shipments along the Piranshahr border strip in recent days.
These forces have positioned themselves behind the villages of Kalakan and Bandareh, and in the Kani Khoda and Delavaran highlands, according to information received by HANA. Sources close to HANA report that several trucks carrying suicide drones have arrived in the area, alongside the deployment of dozens more drones.
This military buildup comes as tensions escalate in the broader conflict among the Islamic Republic, the United States, and Israel, alongside growing concern among Iran’s security and military institutions over possible activity or movement by Kurdish parties. Concentrating offensive forces and equipment so close to the Kurdistan Region’s border has raised the likelihood of cross-border military operations or fresh attacks on Kurdish party positions.
Massing military equipment so close to residential areas and border villages does more than heighten the security atmosphere; it puts the lives of civilian residents at real risk, and has deepened concern that the Islamic Republic could once again strike Kurdistan Region territory with missiles and drones.
