According to information received by HANA Human Rights Organization, Amirhossein Rostami, a 20-year-old Kurdish citizen from Shabab in illam Province, was arrested by security forces on June 12, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to reports received, security agents arrested him without a judicial warrant. Six days have now passed since his arrest, and his family remains completely unaware of his whereabouts or condition. He has been denied the right to contact or receive visits from his family, as well as access to legal counsel.
At the time of this report, no security or judicial authority has provided any explanation regarding the reasons for his arrest, possible charges, the arresting agency, or his place of detention, and the family’s efforts to follow up have yielded no results.
HANA Human Rights Organization stresses that arrest without a judicial warrant, failure to disclose the place of detention, denial of access to legal counsel, and preventing contact with family are all incompatible with the principles of fair trial and the guarantees enshrined in domestic law and international human rights standards, including the right to liberty and personal security and the right to effective legal defense. The continued lack of information about Amirhossein Rostami’s condition and the failure of responsible authorities to provide any accountability have deepened serious concerns about his legal situation and wellbeing. HANA calls for the immediate disclosure of this citizen’s place of detention, clarification of the legal basis for his arrest, a guarantee of his access to a lawyer and his family, and full respect for his legal rights at every stage of the proceedings.
