Hana Report: Heightened Security Pressure and Imminent Execution Risk for 21 Baluch Prisoners

The Hana Human Rights Organization expresses grave concern over the fate of at least 21 Baluch political prisoners currently facing the imminent threat of execution, as the wave of capital punishment continues to escalate across Iran.

According to reports documented by the “Balochistan Human Rights Documentation Network,” these individuals were convicted on charges such as “Moharebeh” (enmity against God), “Efsad-fel-Arz” (corruption on earth), and “membership in opposition groups.”

In nearly all cases, these charges stem from forced confessions obtained under torture, while defendants were systematically denied access to independent legal counsel and a fair judicial process.

The list of those at risk includes Adham Naroui, Farshid Hasan-zehi, Hossein Shaho-zehi, and Nasimeh Eslam-zehi, a mother of two. Particularly alarming is the case of Soleiman Shah-bakhsh, who was reportedly only 12 years old at the time of his arrest. His death sentence marks a flagrant violation of international obligations regarding children’s rights and the absolute prohibition of the death penalty for minors.
Hana emphasizes that issuing and carrying out death sentences based on torture-tainted confessions and vague security charges constitutes a severe breach of the right to life and Iran’s international commitments.

The organization calls upon international bodies, UN human rights mechanisms, and democratic governments to take immediate action to halt these executions and hold the responsible authorities accountable.
