Security Forces Intensify Pressure on Families of Two Young Female Athletes in Saqqez

Pressure and restrictions imposed by security institutions on the families of two young female athletes from Saqqez have intensified, according to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization.

Security institutions, the information indicates, have been pressuring family members and restricting their communications in an apparent effort to block the flow of information about the two athletes’ condition and the measures taken against them.

Ayda Ghaderi, an athlete from Saqqez, has likewise come under security pressure, and her mobile phone has been seized by the Saqqez Intelligence Department. The seizure of her phone, together with the restrictions placed on her family, appears aimed at controlling communications and preventing information about her situation from getting out.

The Hana Human Rights Organization stresses that pressuring family members, restricting personal communications, and obstructing the flow of information, where no legal basis or judicial oversight exists, violate fundamental rights, including the right to privacy, freedom of expression, and personal security.

Hana calls for an immediate end to the security pressure being brought against these two athletes and their families, the lifting of all restrictions imposed on them, and full respect for their fundamental rights and freedoms.
