Former Political Prisoner Ahmad Tamoui Remains in Detention at Greater Tehran Prison

According to information received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, Ahmad Tamoui, a former political prisoner and citizen from Salmas County, who was arrested by security forces in Tehran in the early hours of Monday, February 23, 2026, has remained detained at Greater Tehran Prison for approximately seven months.

According to the information received, Tamoui has been denied access to a lawyer and family visits since his arrest. No information is currently available regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges brought against him.

Prior to his arrest in Tehran, Ahmad Tamoui worked as a Snapp driver. He has previously been arrested and convicted.

It is worth noting that on December 16, 2021, Mr. Tamoui was released from Orumiyeh Central Prison after serving a 15 year prison sentence.
