Continued Lack of Information Regarding the Condition of Sirvan Habibi a Member of the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) Following His Detention in Kamyaran

According to a statement released by the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), Sirvan Habibi, a citizen from Sanandaj and a member of this party, was detained by security forces in the early hours of Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in Be’sat Township, Kamyaran, and, several days later, his place of detention and physical condition remain unknown.

According to the information released, Habibi’s detention occurred at around one in the morning, following the pursuit of the motorcycle carrying him. According to PJAK’s account, security forces collided with his motorcycle during the pursuit, and Habibi, after falling, was detained through the use of violence and beating and removed from the scene.

PJAK has also stated that, following this incident and the gathering of a number of citizens at the scene, forces of the Intelligence Department fired shots into the air to disperse those present. The statement makes no mention of any possible injuries to citizens in the course of the shooting.

According to the party’s statement, Sirvan Habibi was unarmed at the time of his detention and had been present at the location for the purpose of carrying out organizational activities. PJAK has also alleged that he was beaten and tortured in the course of his detention. No further details have been released regarding the type and severity of the injuries possibly inflicted on him.

The Kurdistan Free Life Party, expressing concern over the condition of this member of the party, has held the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran responsible for preserving his life and health, and has called on human rights institutions and civil activists to pursue efforts to clarify his fate and place of detention.
