Fahim Ebadi Continues to Be Denied Medical Care at Orumiyeh Central Prison

The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that Fahim Ebadi, a political prisoner from Orumiyeh, continues to be denied adequate medical care at Orumiyeh Central Prison despite suffering from several chronic conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

According to information received by Hana, Ebadi was arrested by security forces in Orumiyeh approximately two years ago. After several weeks of interrogation at the Intelligence Department detention facility, he was transferred to the city’s central prison.

During judicial proceedings, the Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court sentenced Ebadi to 60 months of Ta’zir imprisonment on the charge of “membership in opposition groups.” Following his request to accept the verdict, the sentence was reduced to 45 months of imprisonment.

Despite his chronic health conditions, his request for medical leave has not been approved. He continues to serve his sentence without adequate access to medical care.
