According to information received by HANA Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, June 11, 2026, Mostafa Piruti, a 51-year-old married citizen from Piranshahr residing in Mahabad, was arrested by Intelligence Office forces in front of his home and transferred to one of the security detention facilities in Orumiyeh.
According to reports received, the arrest was carried out without a judicial warrant and with the use of force. Following the arrest, agents searched his home and confiscated his mobile phone and several personal belongings.
At the time of this report, the reasons for his arrest, the charges brought against him, his exact place of detention, and the status of his access to a lawyer and his family remain unknown.
HANA Human Rights Organization regards this action as a clear violation of the legal procedures governing arrest and search, and incompatible with the Constitution of the Islamic Republic and international human rights standards, including the prohibition of arbitrary detention, the right to be informed of charges, and the right to access legal counsel. While condemning this arrest, HANA calls for the immediate disclosure of Mostafa Piruti’s legal status and place of detention, and for the guarantee of his legal rights.
