Paveh: Worker Dies After Falling from Height in the Kurdistan Region

According to information received by Hana Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Peyman Hosseini, a worker originally from Belbaran village and a resident of Paveh, in Kermanshah Province, died after falling from a building in the city of Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

According to the information received, following the incident, the worker’s body was transferred to a morgue in Sulaymaniyah, where it remains.

It should be noted that poverty and unemployment in Iran have forced many workers to migrate to other countries and take up physically demanding, low-paid jobs. Inadequate workplace safety measures and the lack of insurance coverage leave these workers vulnerable to occupational accidents, some of which result in fatalities.
