Three Citizens Arrested in Oshnavieh as Their Fate Remains Unknown

Three citizens from Oshnavieh, Farhad Ebrahimzadeh, Qader Bariki, and Jafar Bariki, were arrested by security forces on Monday, June 15, 2026, and their whereabouts and fate remain unknown.

According to information received by HANA Human Rights Organization, the families of these individuals have been unable to obtain any information about their condition in the days since their arrest. Security and judicial authorities have also provided no explanation regarding the reasons for the arrests, possible charges, or the location to which these citizens have been transferred.

Farhad Ebrahimzadeh is from the village of Kani Rash, while Qader and Jafar Bariki are two brothers from the village of Qalatian, both in Oshnavieh County.

According to reports received, all three citizens have been denied access to a lawyer and have been unable to contact or receive visits from family members since their arrest, a situation that has deepened concern about their wellbeing.

HANA Human Rights Organization, while expressing concern over the continued lack of information about these citizens, stresses that holding detainees in conditions where their families are unaware of their fate and whereabouts, and where access to legal counsel has not been provided, is incompatible with the principles of fair trial and the fundamental guarantees of detainees’ rights. The continuation of such conditions can pave the way for arbitrary detention and further violations of individuals’ rights while in custody.
