Kolbar Killed by Direct Gunfire from Border Regiment Forces at the Shushami Crossing in Nosud

Vazir Rahimi, a 57-year-old kolbar from the village of Mansour Aghaei in the Shaho district of Ravansar County, was shot dead by border regiment forces at the Shushami crossing in Nosud, Kermanshah Province, in the early hours of Friday, July 3, 2026, according to reports received by HANA Human Rights Organization.

He was struck at close range while making his way along the border paths, carrying goods on his back, and died from his wounds before he could be reached by medical services.
Vazir Rahimi was married.

Poverty and the lack of stable work had driven him and his family to the border town of Nosud around twenty years earlier, and in recent years he had made his living as a kolbar.

His body, brought down from the border heights, is still being held at the Nosud health center; as of this report, it had not yet been released to his family.
