A 15-year-old boy was killed and his father wounded when IRGC forces opened fire in the village of Daroki, Marivan County, on the evening of Thursday, July 9, 2026, according to information received by HANA Human Rights Organization.
Based on information HANA has gathered from local sources and is still working to verify, IRGC forces, acting on suspicion that peshmerga fighters were present in a garden house in the village, opened indiscriminate fire on the property. Mohammad Hassani was killed in the shooting, and his father, Ahsan Hassani, was seriously wounded.
Information received indicates that Mohammad Hassani’s body, along with the wounded Ahsan Hassani, has been transferred to the city of Marivan. As of this report, no responsible body, including the IRGC, has issued any official statement on the reason for the shooting, what triggered the operation, the identity of those it was aimed at, or Ahsan Hassani’s condition.
