Dawood Abdullahi, a Kurdish prisoner of conscience, was transferred to a solitary cell at Qazalhasar prison in Karaj

Hana: On Tuesday, December 26, 2023, a Kurdish prisoner of conscience with the identity of “Dawood Abdullahi” from Mahabad, was transferred to the solitary cell of Qazalhasar prison in Karaj after 14 years of imprisonment to serve his sentence.

According to a source, the family of this prisoner went to Qazalhasar prison in Karaj to meet their son for the last time.
It should be noted that two Kurdish prisoners of conscience, Ayub Karimi and Qasim Absta, who were also in Dawood Abdullahi's case, were executed on "November 5th and 29th, 2023" after 14 years of imprisonment in Qazalhasar prison in Karaj.
Based on this report; Dawood Abdullahi was arrested by the security forces in Novamber 2009, along with six Sunni citizens named Anwar Khazari, Qasim Absta, Farhad Salimi, from Saqqez, Ayub Karimi from Mahabad, Kamran Sheikha and Khosrow Basharat.
According to reports received; They were sentenced to death by Branch 15 of Tehran Revolution Court in May 2018, on charges of "corruption on earth" and crimes related to national security, following unfair trials during which the court judge denied their lawyer the right to defend them. After being arrested between mid-December 2009, and early February 2010, in West Azerbaijan province, these seven people were transferred to the detention center of the Ministry of Intelligence in Orumiyeh and accused of being members of "Salafi groups", a charge they denied.
In July 2018, another court in West Azarbaijan province sentenced Kamran Sheikha to death on the charge of murdering a man who died in a collision with a car, and sentenced Anwar Khezri and Khosrow Basharat to prison as his accomplices.
Despite the numerous cases of serious violations of the rules of fair proceedings, in September 2020, the 38th branch of the Supreme Court rejected their request to resume the proceedings. On February 2, 2021, the 41st branch of the Supreme Court confirmed the sentences issued against these seven prisoners.
