On the eve of the fourth anniversary of the death of Zhina (Mahsa) Amini, her father, Amjad Amini, published a painful message describing a grief that, four years on, remains as fresh as ever for his family.
Addressing Zhina, he wrote: “To us, you are still that same angel who, with every smile, with every glance, drew the gentle hand of fortune across our lives.”
Referring to the widespread compassion shown by the public following his daughter’s death, Zhina’s father added: “We had one daughter, and they took her from us; but the people’s love brought thousands of other children into our family.”
He also wrote of a suffering that time is incapable of erasing, the suffering of a father and mother who do not leave the loss of a child behind them, but live with it anew every day.
In closing, Amjad Amini emphasized the continuation of Justice Seeking and the hope that the truth would come to light, writing: “Dear Zhina, my precious daughter, your name and your memory will remain with us until our very last breath.”
