According to information received by the Hana Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Wednesday, August 19, 2026, Abed Alizadeh, a media activist from Tekab, was detained by security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location. According to information received, this detention took place at around 8:00 p.m. and without presentation of a judicial warrant.
Abed Alizadeh, son of Moloud, is married and resides in the Sharifabad area of Tekab. On social media, he has been active mainly on social issues, popular protests, commemorating those who lost their lives in the January Protests, and, in addition, Kurdish language, culture, and studies. He had also recently posted a video of his own simple, modest wedding ceremony, describing this choice as a gesture of respect for those who lost their lives in the protests.
As of the time of this report’s publication, no information is available regarding the agency responsible for the detention, his place of confinement, the legal basis for the arrest, or the possible charges brought against Abed Alizadeh.
