A Worker from Saqqez Loses His Life Following a Fall from Height

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, a worker identified as Latif Mohammadzadeh, a resident of Saqqez, married and a father of two, lost his life following a fall from height during the demolition of a building in the city of Bukan.

According to an informed source, this worker, who was employed as a day laborer, had traveled to Bukan for work. While performing his duties, he fell from a height due to the lack of necessary safety equipment and facilities, sustaining severe injuries.

The source further added: “Latif Mohammadzadeh passed away after being transferred to the hospital due to the severity of the injuries sustained.”
It is noteworthy that in recent years, due to the lack of workplace safety and the negligence of employers regarding protection and safety principles, the statistics of work-related accidents in Kurdistan and other parts of Iran have taken an upward trend.

Under international human rights conventions and labor standards, governments are obligated to guarantee the health and safety of the working environment for all workers.
