Saadi Shahrokhi-far, a 40-year-old resident of Bukan, was killed during the nationwide protests following the state-sanctioned killing of Zhina Amini. On November 19, 2022, he had left home to buy groceries when security forces of the Islamic Republic shot him in the chest and stabbed him multiple times in the Ali-Abad Street area.
After four days of persistent inquiries by the family, they were finally informed that Saadi Shahrokhi-far’s body had been kept in the morgue of “Shahid Qolipour” Hospital in Bukan. During this time, no clear explanation was provided regarding the delay in notifying the family or the circumstances under which his body had been transferred.
His burial ceremony was held under heavy security control. Security forces created an atmosphere of intimidation and prevented the family from speaking to the media about the circumstances of his death.
