Shahriar Mohammadi, a 28-year-old man from Bukan, was identified and pursued by security agencies during the nationwide protests following the state killing of Zhina Amini, and after his friend Mohammad Hassanzadeh was shot dead by security forces on 16 November 2022.
On 18 November 2022, security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran blocked one of the main streets of Bukan—from the Aliabad roundabout to the Behzisti office—surrounded Shahriar Mohammadi’s car, and opened fire on him with live ammunition. Shahriar died after being transferred to Shahid Qolipour Hospital.
It is worth noting that security forces riddled Shahriar Mohammadi’s car with bullets, and after the shooting, they quickly left the scene out of fear of public gatherings and renewed protests.
