According to the reports received from the colleagues of Hana Human Rights Organization, on the morning of Tuesday, 30 August 2022, an old abandoned building in the city of “Sanandaj”, which was a shelter for homeless people and sleeping cartons, collapsed due to wear and tear. It should be noted that following this incident, several citizens were left under the rubble, and so far only one of them has been brought out alive by a rescue dog.
Also, the number and names of injured or killed people are still unknown to Hana Human Rights Organization.
According to the statistics published by the World Human Rights Organization as well as non-official institutions in Iran, the significant increase in the number of homeless people in this country, as well as the failure to settle these people in suitable places, has become a big problem that has endangered the lives of thousands of homeless people.
