According to information received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on the evening of Monday, August 17, 2026, Shakhawan Khavari, son of Rahim and a Kurdish citizen from the village of Ney in Marivan county, was arrested by Intelligence Department agents without the presentation of a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location.
Shakhawan Khavari had previously been arrested on November 7, 2022, when he was 16 years old, coinciding with the nationwide protests.
As of the publication of this report, his location of detention, the reasons for his arrest, potential charges, and the presiding judicial authority have not been announced. Since his arrest, he has also been deprived of access to a lawyer and any contact or visitation with his family.
