Mamusta Hejaar statue set on fire in Mahabad

Hana; According to reports, on Thursday morning (August 12, 2021), unknown individuals set fire to the statue of “Mamosta Hejar” in Mamosta Hejar Square.

 

Published information shows that the fire was started using several car tires under the statue.

Ahmadi, the director of the Mahabad Fire Department, said that the perpetrators of the fire have not been identified, and the forces of the organization prevented serious damage to the statue by attending the site on time, but due to smoke from burning tires, parts of the statue have lost their color
He also stated: "There are several cameras in the area and the municipal organization and law enforcement agencies can get clues from this incident by reviewing the videos."
In a statement, the family of Professor Abdul Rahman Sharafkandi, who was referred to as Mamosta Hazhar, urged mahabad city officials to follow up on the perpetrators of the trophy fire and deal with them according to the law.
