According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, the death sentence of Ebrahim Farhadi Topkanlu, a Kurdish prisoner from Sabzevar county, was executed at dawn on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in the Central Prison of Torbat-e Heydarieh.
This 48-year-old prisoner, who was married and a father of three, had previously been sentenced to death on drug-related charges by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Sabzevar, presided over by Judge Mohammad Gholami.
According to an informed source, “The execution of this prisoner was carried out while his case was still pending appeal [under review by the Supreme Court].”
As of the time of this report, official domestic media in Iran and the judicial institutions of the Islamic Republic have not formally announced the execution of this prisoner.
