According to information received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, Sirwan Shabani, a 25 year old artist, musician, and director of a pop and traditional orchestra from Kermanshah residing in the Wavan neighborhood of Islamshahr, along with Khosrow Mohammadinia and Masoud Toshmalani, two other citizens from Kermanshah, have been sentenced to death by Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Karami and Judge Taghizadeh, on charges of Moharebeh. These three citizens were detained during the January 2026 protests and are currently being held in Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.
These citizens were arrested by security forces on Friday, January 9, 2026, during protests in Islamshahr, Tehran province, and were subsequently held in solitary confinement. Based on received information, after months of detention in solitary confinement and the extraction of forced confessions, they were transferred to Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. Meanwhile, Masoud Toshmalani had been temporarily released on bail before being arrested again.
