Continued Detention and 45 Days of Incommunicado Confinement of Sahar Mahdi a Citizen from Saqqez

Based on reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, 32-year-old Sahar Mahdi, a citizen from Saqqez County, remains in a state of legal limbo at Saqqez Prison 45 days after her arrest.

Ms. Mahdi, the daughter of Parshang and Abdollah, was previously arrested by Intelligence Department forces at her family home without the presentation of a judicial warrant, and was subsequently transferred to Saqqez Prison. At the time of the arrest, officers also confiscated and seized her mobile phone along with those of her other family members.

According to an informed source, despite initial promises by security agencies regarding the citizen’s release on bail, judicial and security authorities have refused to release her up to this moment.

Despite the persistent efforts and inquiries by her family, no information regarding the grounds for arrest or the specific allegations leveled against Sahar Mahdi has been made available up to the drafting of this report.
