At least 17 Kolber were killed and wounded in January 2022

Hana: The Statistics Center of the Hana Human Rights Organization collects data and statistics related to different parts of Iranian Kurdistan at the end of each month. This statistic has been prepared with the efforts of Hana’s colleagues.

 

In this section, the Statistics Center of the Hana Human Rights Organization presents the statistics of Kurdish border porters known as Kolber casualties in different parts of Kurdistan provinces in January, 2022. In January, at least 17 Kolbers were killed and wounded during Kolbery.
All of the casualties are male.
Out of a total of 17 people,
five Kolber were killed, one of them by direct fire from the border forces of the Islamic Republic, and one died in a car accident, and three others were left under the snow due to frostbite.
This month, 12 Kolbers were injured, eight of them by direct fire from the Islamic Republic Border Forces, two of them by a landmine explosion, one by a car accident, and one by natural disaster been injured.

Kolbery is a phenomenon resulting from poverty and systematic unemployment in Kurdistan, and people are forced to take refuge in Kolbery. It is dangerous for the people of Kurdistan. Law enforcement, the Revolutionary Guards, or the border guards of the Islamic Republic shoot directly at the collaborators, killing or injuring a number on a daily basis.
