According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, a Kurdish citizen named Vahed Boroumand, a resident of Piranshahr, was arrested following a raid on his private residence by security forces.
According to informed sources, the arrest was carried out without a judicial warrant and involved a search of his home. Following the arrest, officers transferred him to an unknown location, and his family’s persistent efforts to learn about his fate have so far remained unsuccessful.
Mr. Boroumand is married and a father of two. As of the time of this report, precise information regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges brought against him, and his health status is not available.
The Hana Human Rights Organization emphasizes that arresting individuals at their residence without adhering to legal standards, coupled with a continued lack of information regarding their status, constitutes arbitrary detention and a clear violation of international human rights instruments. The organization calls for transparency from the relevant authorities regarding his place of detention and demands that detainees be granted immediate access to legal counsel and their families.
