According to the Iranian judiciary, the death sentences of Ali Hemmati Sistaniyan and Majid Nik-Andish, two individuals arrested during the January 2026 protests in Mashhad, were carried out early Wednesday, September 30, 2026, after being upheld by the Supreme Court.
The two men had been accused of involvement in incidents in Mashhad’s Tabarsi district that resulted in the deaths of four security forces. The charges brought against them reportedly included attacking a chain store, setting it on fire with Molotov cocktails, setting a bank on fire, and damaging public property.
It was also claimed that the two men confessed to the charges during interrogations and court proceedings.
