According to information received by the Hana Organization for Human Rights, over the course of Thursday and Friday, August 13 and 14, 2026, four citizens from Bukan, namely Sediq Karimi, Hadi Azizi, Shwana Diwazi, and Omid Chawbaz, were detained by forces of the Intelligence Department and transferred to undisclosed locations. Hana had previously published news of Shwana Diwazi’s detention separately.
Sediq Karimi, Hadi Azizi, and Shwana Diwazi were detained on Thursday, August 13. In the course of Hadi Azizi’s arrest, his home was searched, his laptop and mobile phone were confiscated, and his vehicle was also seized. Both Sediq Karimi and Hadi Azizi have previously been detained.
Shwana Diwazi is 44 years old, married, and the father of three children.
Omid Chawbaz, 45 years old and from the village of Hajilak, in Bukan County, was detained at his home, without presentation of a judicial warrant, in the early hours of Friday, August 14, at around one o’clock.
As of the time of this report’s publication, no information is available regarding the reasons for the arrests, the possible charges, or the whereabouts of these four citizens.
