Majid Karimi Kurdish Writer and Language Instructor Released After 24 Hours of Detention

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on the evening of Thursday, May 14, 2026, Majid Karimi, widely known as “Majid Rahvard” a writer, cultural activist, and voluntary Kurdish language instructor from Quchan was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence forces in Tehran and released after approximately 24 hours of interrogation.

Reports indicate that six security agents raided the personal residence of the cultural activist without presenting a judicial warrant. They thoroughly searched the premises and confiscated his personal belongings, including his mobile phone and laptop.
Furthermore, according to received information, security agencies have accused Mr. Karimi of cooperating with Kurdish political parties.
However, judicial authorities have not yet provided any official explanation regarding the specific allegations brought against him.

Following his transfer to a security detention center and undergoing a full day and night of interrogation, the Kurdish writer was released and left on a street in Tehran on the evening of Friday, May 15, 2026.
Majid Karimi (Rahvard) is a well-known Kurdish cultural figure in Khorasan who has been active in poetry, writing, and the voluntary teaching of the Kurdish language over the past several years.
