Continued Detention and Lack of Information on Aso Keykhosravi 17-Year-Old Teenager Detained in January Protests

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, Aso Keykhosravi, a 17-year-old teenager from Javanrud county, remains in a state of legal limbo and complete lack of information more than four months after his arrest.

Based on received information, Aso Keykhosravi was arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant on January 8, 2026, during protests in the city. Despite repeated inquiries, security and judicial authorities have refused to disclose his place of detention or physical condition, and have failed to provide any clear answers regarding his status and fate to his family.

Since his arrest, this minor under the age of 18 has been systematically deprived of his fundamental rights, including access to legal counsel, phone calls, and family visits a situation that has heightened serious concerns regarding his physical, psychological, and legal well-being.

The Hana Human Rights Organization emphasizes that the continued detention of an individual under 18 in a state of uncommunicated custody and deprivation of defense rights directly contradicts the principles of a fair trial and the international obligations of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).

As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the grounds for his arrest or the specific charges brought against Aso Keykhosravi.
