Hana: On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, Forouzan Eslami, a Kurdish citizen from Orumiyeh, an English language instructor, and the head of the “Nojavan” Language Academy, was arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to information received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, her arrest was carried out without the presentation of a judicial warrant. As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for her detention, potential charges, the arresting agency, or her current place of holding.
The complete lack of information regarding the location of a detainee, coupled with the denial of access to family members and legal counsel, constitutes a clear violation of fundamental rights, including the right to a fair trial, the right to legal representation, and the right of the family to be informed of the detainee’s status.
Expressing deep concern over the situation of Forouzan Eslami, the Hana Human Rights Organization calls for the immediate disclosure of her whereabouts and the grounds for her arrest.
Hana demands that her right to access a lawyer and communicate with her family be guaranteed, and that all legal and human rights standards be strictly observed throughout her detention and any subsequent judicial proceedings.
