Abduljalil Shahbakhsh Baluch Political-Religious Prisoner Executed

Hana Human Rights Organization — Tuesday, May 12, 2026: A Baluch political prisoner was executed today at Zahedan Central Prison.
The executed citizen has been identified as Abduljalil Shahbakhsh, son of Jalal, from Chah Ahmad village in Taftan County.

Media outlets affiliated with the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic announced that Shahbakhsh was executed on charges of membership in the armed group “Ansar al-Furqan” and the “killing of law enforcement personnel and the District Governor of Goharkuh” in Taftan.

Regarding the judicial process, the Baluchistan Human Rights Documentation Network reported: “Throughout his detention, Abduljalil was denied access to a lawyer, family visits, and phone calls. His confessions were obtained under physical and psychological torture.”
In a video of forced confessions broadcast by state media, Shahbakhsh is shown stating that he was involved in the killing of security forces and the Goharkuh District Governor alongside Nematullah Shahbakhsh (Ghanbarzehi), son of Musa.

According to published reports, three other Baluch political prisoners related to this case are facing the imminent risk of execution. They have been identified as Yasin (Mosayeb) Shahbakhsh (22, son of Gol Mohammad), Vahid Rigi, and Younes Dahmardeh. Forced confessions from these individuals had previously been aired on the provincial Hamoon TV channel.

Relatives of Yasin Shahbakhsh have previously stated that he was coerced into making false confessions under severe physical and psychological torture while in detention.
With the execution of Abduljalil Shahbakhsh, the number of political prisoners executed in Iran over the past two months has reached 30, two of whom were Baluch political prisoners.
