According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on the evening of January 8, 2026, a 14-year-old girl identified as Asra Tavousi Nia, daughter of Mehdi and a resident of the village of Dasht Bolagh in Sonqor and Kolyai County, was seriously injured by direct gunfire from forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during protests in Kermanshah. After enduring severe injuries for two weeks, she lost her life on January 24, 2026.
A source close to Asra Tavousi Nia’s family told the Hana Human Rights Organization that Asra was critically wounded after being hit by a live bullet to the pelvic area. She remained hospitalized in a coma for two weeks and, due to the severity of her injuries and limited medical facilities, ultimately died on January 24, 2026, at Taleghani Hospital in Kermanshah.
The source further added that had the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran not killed Asra, she would have turned 15 years old on May 2, 2026.
In recent weeks, alongside the publication of reports revealing alarming figures regarding those killed in the nationwide protests, the Hana Human Rights Organization has made every effort to identify and expose the identities of those killed and detained during this movement. Hana’s legal team has been in continuous contact with international human rights bodies to reflect and document the widespread crimes committed by the Islamic Republic against the citizens of Iran.
