According to the Hana Human Rights Organization, between 1 to 10 December 2025, at least 30 Kurdish citizens, including one woman and 29 men, from the cities and villages of Sanandaj, Piranshahr, Orumiyeh, Oshnavieh, Bukan, Sahneh, Mahabad, Naqadeh and Sardasht, as well as one citizen from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, were arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic and transferred to undisclosed locations without any notification to their families. Verified information shows that the arrests were carried out mostly without judicial warrants and, in some cases, accompanied by raids on the detainees’ homes. Families have so far not been informed about the whereabouts or legal status of the detained individuals.

The series of arrests recorded over the ten-day period, all involving Kurdish citizens across various parts of Iranian Kurdistan, highlights the continuation of a security-driven and repressive approach. The broad geographical scope of the arrests, the high number of detainees and the lack of transparency in legal procedures have raised serious concerns about violations of fundamental rights. Denial of access to lawyers, cutting off families from their relatives and transferring detainees to undisclosed locations have intensified fears regarding violations of due process and legal safeguards. This ongoing pattern, which has become more pronounced in recent years, underscores the need for oversight by human rights bodies and the importance of accountability by the authorities.
