According to reports received by HANA Human Rights Organization, security forces raided the home of Alireza Hemmati, a teacher and union activist from Abdanan, on the morning of Wednesday, July 8, 2026, searching the premises and confiscating a number of his personal belongings without presenting a judicial warrant.
The agents, their faces covered, entered the home and, after searching it, seized his laptop, mobile phone, and several other electronic devices, according to information received. Hemmati has also been notified to appear before the Revolutionary Court on Sunday.
During the raid, his son, who lives with a physical disability, suffered a seizure brought on by shock and anxiety at the sight of the security forces, according to information received.
Alireza Hemmati is a well-known teacher and union activist in Abdanan County who has repeatedly faced summonses, security pressure, and judicial action over the years for his union work and advocacy on behalf of teachers’ demands.
