According to Hana colleagues, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, Taha Rasoulian, an artist and civil activist from Piranshahr, was detained and transferred to Naqadeh Prison to serve his prison sentence.
According to received reports, Taha Rasoulian was sentenced to 7 years and 10 months of imprisonment by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad, presided over by Judge "Ojaghlu," on charges of "membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government and acting against national security."
Additionally, in May 2023, Mr. Rasoulian was sentenced by the 102nd branch of the Criminal Court of Piranshahr, presided over by Judge "Reza Ghahremani Saatlou," to a fine of 10 million Tomans, three months of imprisonment, and 40 lashes on charges of "disrupting public order and peace."
It is worth noting that this civil activist was arrested in Piranshahr on January 18, 2023, by security forces and was temporarily released from Naqadeh Prison on February 21, 2023, after posting a hefty bail of 5 billion Tomans.
