According to information received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, coinciding with the strike by shopkeepers in Kurdistan on the fourth anniversary of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising, Hesam Abdinia, a resident of Gazarkhani village in Kamyaran County, and his wife, Arezoo Dashti, were arrested by security forces at their family home without a judicial warrant.
According to the report, Arezoo Dashti was released one day after her arrest, while Hesam Abdinia remains in detention and is being held at a detention facility operated by the IRGC Intelligence Organization in Kamyaran.
As of the publication of this report, four days after Hesam Abdinia’s arrest, no information is available regarding the reason for his arrest or the charges against him. He also continues to be denied access to a lawyer and visits with his family.
