According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, in recent days a Kurdish citizen identified as Younes Tanhaei has been sentenced to 20 months and one day in prison by Branch 1 of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court.
Based on the received information, Judge Yaser Gozli, who presided over the court, convicted him on charges of collaboration with one of the Kurdish opposition parties to the Iranian government.
According to Hana’s sources, the verdict issued against this Kurdish citizen is final and enforceable, and it does not fall under the laws of sentence reduction, commutation, or conversion to an open sentence.
Younes Tanhaei has been denied temporary release since his arrest.
It is worth noting that Younes Tanhaei, a married man and father of two, is a resident of Hamzehabad village, a district of Mahabad. He was arrested by security forces in June 2025 and, after completing his interrogation process, was transferred to Mahabad Prison.
Mr. Tanhaei had previously been arrested on earlier occasions as well.
