According to information received by the HANA Human Rights Organization, Parham Parvari, a Kurdish political prisoner from Saqqez and one of those arrested during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests, has once again been transferred from Iranshahr Prison to Zahedan Prison. The transfer was carried out without prior notification to his family. Since the transfer, his family has received no contact from him and has been given no information about his current situation.
Parham Parvari has been imprisoned since 3 October 2022. He was previously sentenced by Branch 28 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court to 10 years of imprisonment combined with internal exile and an additional five years of imprisonment. In December 2023, he was transferred from Evin Prison to Iranshahr Prison in exile without his family or lawyer being informed. In October 2024, he sustained physical injuries following an attack by a number of prisoners convicted of ordinary criminal offences. After being temporarily transferred to Zahedan Prison, he was returned to Iranshahr Prison.
In light of the history of violence against Parham Parvari in prison and his repeated transfers between facilities, HANA expresses serious concern over the loss of contact between him and his family. The prison authorities and the judicial authorities bear direct responsibility for safeguarding his life and physical well-being. It is imperative that his physical condition, detention conditions, and access to contact with his family and lawyer be clarified without delay.
