According to Hana Human Rights Organization, on Sunday, February 16, 2025, the 80-year-old grandmother and 45-year-old mother of Farzin Tot, a Kurdish political activist residing in the Kurdistan Region, were severely tortured by IRGC Intelligence forces. The torture and beating were so severe that the activist’s mother suffered six broken teeth due to the brutality of the IRGC agents.
The grandmother has been identified as Esti Choghar, and the mother as Sa’adat Bayazidi.
Hana’s investigations reveal that IRGC Intelligence forces raided the family’s home, vandalized and destroyed household belongings, and subjected family members to torture and mistreatment.
Hana Human Rights Organization strongly condemns the IRGC’s raid on this family’s home and the torture of elderly individuals, holding the IRGC commander of the province, the Director-General of Intelligence, and the Provincial Prosecutor accountable for these inhumane acts. The organization also holds these officials directly responsible for ensuring the safety of this family’s members and demands their immediate accountability.
