Rashed Emami and Shler Modirzadeh Violently Arrested by Security Forces in Paveh

According to reports received by HANA Human Rights Organization, Rashed Emami, born 1992, a surveying engineer and artist from Paveh, was arrested along with his wife Shler Modirzadeh, 31, also a surveying engineer, by Intelligence Office forces in the city on Monday, July 6, 2026, and both were taken to an undisclosed location.

Information verified by HANA shows that Intelligence Office agents raided the couple’s home on Monday afternoon and violently arrested Rashed Emami without presenting a judicial warrant. A few hours later that same evening, agents returned to the home and arrested Shler Modirzadeh as well, using force and taking her to an undisclosed location.

According to information received, security agents offered no explanation for the arrests or any charges against the couple, and their family has so far received no information about their whereabouts or condition. Efforts by their family and those close to them to learn of their fate have so far come to nothing.

Rashed Emami had previously been arrested, along with his brother Mohammad Emami, by security forces during the nationwide “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” protests in December 2022.
