According to reports received by HANA Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, Mehran Bahrami, a citizen from Saqqez, was arrested by security forces at his workplace and transferred to an undisclosed location, without any judicial warrant being presented or served.
At the time of this report, nothing is known about his whereabouts, the arresting agency, or his physical and legal condition. No official information has been released regarding the reasons for his arrest or any charges against him, and the responsible authorities have offered no explanation.
Expressing concern over the continued lack of information about this citizen’s situation, HANA Human Rights Organization stresses that detaining individuals outside legal procedures, without disclosing any judicial documentation, and withholding information about their condition and whereabouts is incompatible with the principles of fair trial and the Islamic Republic of Iran’s international obligations regarding the protection of the right to liberty and personal security. HANA calls for the immediate disclosure of Mehran Bahrami’s situation, full respect for his legal rights during detention, and a guarantee of his access to a lawyer, his family, and all other fundamental rights enshrined in domestic law and international human rights instruments.
