Manijeh Khoshnoud Citizen From Bukan Sentenced to Three Months in Prison

According to published information, Manijeh Khoshnoud, a 58 year old citizen from Bukan, has been sentenced by Branch 101 of Bukan Criminal Court Two, on the charge of “propaganda against the system,” to three months’ imprisonment. The verdict was communicated to her on August 11, 2026.

Ms. Khoshnoud had been detained on May 26, 2026, after security forces entered her family home, without presentation of a judicial warrant, and was transferred for interrogation to a security detention facility in Orumiyeh. In the course of the arrest, security forces also confiscated her laptop, mobile phone, and a number of her books. After 15 days in detention, she was temporarily released on bail of two billion tomans.

Manijeh Khoshnoud had previously been detained as well, in July/August 2024, and had been released on bail following interrogation. In that case, too, she had been sentenced by Branch 101 of Bukan Criminal Court Two, on the charge of “propaganda against the system,” to 10 months of Ta’zir Imprisonment.
