Kaziwe Parviznia Remains in Detention and Legal Limbo at Orumiyeh Central Prison

According to reports received by HANA Human Rights Organization, Kaziwe Parviznia, a citizen from Mahabad arrested in connection with alleged filming of previous protests in the city, has been held in legal limbo at Orumiyeh Central Prison for more than two weeks, with no access to a lawyer or family visits.

According to information received, the arrest began when security forces went to her family home without a judicial warrant. In her absence, a relative was detained and held until Kaziwe Parviznia turned herself in. She subsequently went to the Intelligence Office, where she was arrested without any legal warrant or documentation being presented, and transferred to a security detention facility for interrogation.

After the completion of interrogation and case proceedings, she was transferred to Orumiyeh Central Prison, but despite more than two weeks having passed since her arrest, she remains in pretrial detention, and no official information has been released about the status of her case, any judicial decision, or when the charges against her will be heard.

She has also been denied access to legal counsel of her choosing and family visits since the time of her arrest, and these restrictions remain in place.
