According to reports, on Monday, March 15 , 2021, a Kurdish teenager, was identified as Mobin Ahmadi, 14 years old, from the village of “Si wara Hawar” in the city of “Azgaleh” committed suicide.
Two Kurdish citizens from Ilam were identified as Mohammad Fattahi and Mohammad Akbari also committed suicide in recent days and lost their lives.
According to received information received by Hana Human Rights Organization, the reason for the suicide of all three Kurdish citizens was poverty and social problems.
Poverty and social problems in Kurdistan have created a miserable situation and because of the pressures caused by it, since March 1, 2021, until now eight Kurdish citizens have committed suicide who four of them were under the age of 18 in the cities of Saqqez, Dehgolan , Sonqor and Ezgaleh and four others have committed suicide in Ilam, Dehgolan and Kamyaran. The reason for the suicide of seven of them was poverty and the resulting pressures.
Also last month, seven Kurdish citizens committed suicide for similar reasons, but these statistics are not accurate due to the lack of permission to free Network and the lack of access of all people to freelance media and only part of the actual statistics.
It should be noted that economic problems, mental illness, cultural determinism, political issues and social pressures are the main causes of suicide in Iran and the suicide rate in Kurdish cities has been higher than elsewhere in Iran.
The current situation can be attributed to the mismanagement of the authorities and the obvious violation of Articles 22 and 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
