Information received by the Hana Organization for Human Rights indicates the detention of Siamak Mofidi, 17, and Soroush Enayati, 16, two adolescents from Tekab, on the evening of Saturday, September 5, 2026. These two adolescents were detained by security forces without presentation of a judicial warrant.
Siamak Mofidi and Soroush Enayati had, in recent months, been residing in Tehran and working at a café. It has not yet been established whether their detention is in any way connected to their presence or employment in Tehran.
Following their detention, the two adolescents were initially transferred to an undisclosed location, and were subsequently moved to Tehran for interrogation. Their precise place of detention in Tehran remains unknown, and their families, despite repeated efforts, have received no clear information regarding their circumstances and current condition.
Reports received also indicate that Siamak and Soroush have had no opportunity for contact or visitation with their families since the time of their detention, and have likewise been denied access to legal counsel.
Given that both adolescents are under 18 years of age, the manner of their detention, interrogation, and conditions of confinement is subject to the special requirements and protections relating to children’s rights, and legal safeguards appropriate to their age must be observed at every stage of the proceedings.
